My Future

I am grateful to know a small part of what is next for me. I am so excited to study at a university and have an education in architecture. I feel incredibly grateful for knowing that an architecture education is how I learn best, from a mix of studio, lectures, and critiques. Having done online for two years of my high-school education, I cannot wait to be back in a classroom with real-life professors and peers beside me. I have enjoyed the application process for colleges greatly because I have always enjoyed planning my future.

The person I want to be

Through my curious and explorative last two years of high school, I have learned much about myself and the world around me. By getting out of the Aspen bubble, I have decided more about what I want to be a part of. Because of my unique experience growing up in Aspen, I had never seen a homeless person like the ones I have now in the big cities I have traveled to. While at USC, I saw at least five homeless people on my way to class. In L.A. I know that they have been working on a solution to having fewer homeless people out on the streets since the 1950s, and yet no solution has stuck and it is the same for many cities. Through my passion for architecture and applying it to schools in popular cities, I want to join the people striving to solve this problem, which could save thousands of lives.

I am also very excited to tutor during college. I have learned that not only do I like tutoring and helping others in education, but I am also good at it. I believe it is a strength of mine to be able to explain something well and it multiple different ways. I learned the most when I peer tutored my sophomore year about my knowledge but also how to teach another person.

What I want to be involved in

I am hoping to be involved in financial clubs at any university I attend because I have an interest in investing and realize that I need to learn how to grow my portfolio at a younger age. I am also interested in joining a sorority to continue to volunteer and make a difference in my community. I am also looking forward to expanding my passion for travel but combine it with my architecture knowledge to learn even more through exploring and adventuring.
